Marketmore is a fruit that has a smooth, dark green skin. Marketmore is a salad or ‘slicing’ cucumber. They have a delightful fresh, crisp and mild flavour.
A favorite of gardeners for high yields of short cukes with solid flesh. Cucumbers are thin-skinned, straight with full ends, and a nice green color. Flesh is crisp and very receptive to pickling spices. Great for any pickling recipe, whether sweets or dills.
Cucumbers grown to eat fresh are called slicing cucumbers. They are mainly eaten in the unripe green form, since the ripe yellow form normally becomes bitter and sour. Slicers grown commercially for the North American market are generally longer, smoother, more uniform in color, and have a much tougher skin.
